Another great location in Quail Hollow State Park, Ohio. These are deciduous trees. They lose their leaves during part of the year. We most-commonly see this in Fall, when leaves change color and fall from the branches, but this is late August.

Some trees actually lose their leaves during warm or dry seasons to conserve water. You can read more at the Quail Hollow State Park site.

This forest was man-made; the trees were purposefully planted in long rows, many years ago.
